Fortune-Teller

 <modified>2008-11-13T12:13+00:00

Welcome to Money Sick a place where you can read about anything pertaining to the issues of Money. How to make money where to find money, secrets of making money increasing your business sales, sell products and how you can save money and so on.
This is a common scene at Woodlands Old Town near. It is not an unfamilar place to me. In fact it is a place which I used to go very often during those days where Richard and I had cars and it was also a place where I came here with my family when I was young. Going there so often and yet I do not know what this place is really called.
The faces of the ‘fortune tellers’ looked different everytime I went there. There were at least 2 fortune tellers there. Are they really fortune tellers? How to prove that they are really professional fortune tellers and not cheaters? Insurance have examinations and license. Real estate agents also have examinations and license. What about fortune tellers? Perhaps their money making opportunities will soon end when government soon take steps like what the insurance agents used to go through.
Another name for fortune teller is Feng Shui Master. In the past people who sell insurance are called insurance agents. Today insurance agents have higher standards must pass more examinations and must have better qualification. Though the job scope is the same the title is no longer insurance agents. Insurance agents are now known as Financial Advisers. People who have passed all the six examinations will be accredited with the title Financial Planner or AFP if partial pass or have not completed the whole set of examinations. As long as you are helping people to plan their money you are called Financial Planner. To the ignorant people you would not know what are the proper steps to be a real Financial Planner. Some real estate agents claimed themselves to be financial planner when they have no certification to proof it at all.
One fortune-teller is busy predicting the future of his client. Another fortune-teller which is this one is busy counting money having no one to attend to. I saw lots of $10 notes. How did these fortune-tellers charge their clients or customers? My parents used to frequent fortune-tellers. One of the reason for seeking fortune-tellers is wealth. Everybody want to be rich. Everybody want numbers and to strike rich. A common question is to ask the fortune-teller about their wealth. ?. If these people go to the temple they would call it ??(ask for wealth) to the temple fortune-teller.
This is a world about making money for a living. You make use of your expertise to earn a living. You are good at something but there are always better ones than you. If you want to excel in your area of expertise you need to upgrade your knowledge and be something special to other people. What is it that you are more unique than other people? Why should people come to you and not others? How can people believe you or trust you?
These fortune-tellers are not begging for money. They are doing a legitimate business so to speak but it is not the ideal for placing just any tables anywhere in public. But that is life perhaps back home they have many mouths to feed and the sick is awaiting him for money to seek medical treatment. Whichever the story everybody has their own life and own story. Do you want to deliver your hard-earn money to such people just to let them ‘predict’ or tell you what will happen to your life? If they can give you numbers to strike 4Ds or TOTO ask them to give themselves numbers so that they can be rich and they do not need to work anymore. If fortune-tellers are that great there would not be so many and so many poor people in this world too. What is the purpose of being a fortune-teller? How can they really help people to improve their life? I no longer go for fortune-telling. I choose not to and I do not want to donate my money to fortune-tellers. Why must we let other people predict your when your future lies in your own hands?

A book on Change or Fortune Telling?

This is a book that might impact your life if you read it in a way that you would never have expected. It is called "The Law of Changes," or in Chinese 易经. As the title indicates, although partially it educates us about the laws and ways in which the universe/world changes and how we can and should behave accordingly to adapt to or manage the changes so that we are masters rather than slaves of our lives. Ideally we can be masters of this world by making positive changes to it by effectively using every back up minute and hour of our lives. To many of the non-Chinese people even including some western scholars the magic of the book lies in its mysteriously amazing ability in "fortune-telling." Not surprisingly. I was first attracted and intrigued by the book for the same reason. Early on when I was a graduate student of English Language and Literature approve in Guangzhou. China. I started studying this magic book and had attempted somewhat successfully to help my friends to solve very tricky problems and brought them out of the various kinds of dilemma in certain period of their lives. I used it twice only on myself for the "fortune-telling" purpose. And it directed me to where I am and who I am today for which fact i am deeply grateful. Honestly the fact that I can be as strong and solid in my character and academics as I am today and I can be as happy and healthy as I am today. I have to admit is due to the reading and digesting "The Law of Changes" which is one of the major sources of inner strength health and character. It believe it or not can help you in a way keep your youth and beauty, too! Here's an excerpt from the book I read just this morning: "When the ancient king inspected the world they discovered customs that were strange and unusual. But they could not influence others unless they put away their preconceptions about how things should be done and tried to see things from the other person's point of view. They could not instruct others until they understood what others understood so that they could teach in the context of that understanding. In the same way you must hit the books to contemplate the world with tolerance openness and curiosity. Do not be dismissive of what you encounter. Try to understand how it came about and what purpose or function it serves. Only then can you recognize what is good and what is bad about it what needs to be changed and what should be preserved and built upon. Above all you must not take things personally. Do not view.
Fortune telling night

 <modified>2007-12-15T14:39+00:00

We did some fortune telling after dinner. Haha Read through. I attended this academic writing categorise with Yuriko and I think it was really good. I wish I had attened the previous sessions but it's too late to experience about things now. Haha So there. We were supposed to watch the fireworks show at St. Peter's Square but the categorise ended about 7 already so we just decided to have dinner. We went to my favorite Japanese restaurant in Chinatown (well favorite for now coz I haven't gone to other Japanese restaurant which tasted desire authentic Japanese food aside from that dish Yuriko cooked for me! Yummy!)
It was interesting because Ramazan and Bil had to eat with chopsticks but they learned fast. I mean not a lot of people can use chopsticks well. Japanese people would commend someone specially a foreigner if they can use chopsticks properly. Bil and Ramazan did very well. I must say. I was told when I was still small that "箸が使える人は頭が良い" After dinner we went to Musicana. It is a coffee shop located in Rusholme. Manchester. After a lovely dinner at Wasabi with Yuriko. Bil and Ramazan we went for coffee. The three of them had Turkish coffee I had latte with caramel. Haha I didn't want my fortune told tonight get that? Nyahaha So Bil and Ramazan get to express Yuriko's fortune and Ramazan got to say his piece about Bil's. I did tell Ramazan's fortune but I was totally saying assail things. Haha we had a great measure though. Arvin came for coffee as come up! Lovely dinner and coffee. Perfect!
So yea we did some fortune telling! I just realised everyone can be a fortune teller. But its amazing how in a cup of coffee you can express what the future holds for you. Its interesting how cultures create by mental act with such tradition desire this telling a fortune using coffee. And I read online that there are actually experts in this handle.
I think that the future is not predetermined. populate make their own future with the choices they alter. Different cultures have different ways in telling fortune but as it is it merely represents something it may answer as caution or warning or a write but it doesn't convey that that is your future.
Humans are free rational beings. That separates us from other creatures created by the Other who/which I cannot really define but I know he/it exists. There is always some magical powers which man cannot explain so we get everything to things desire telling a fortune in a cup of coffee.
Fatuous Fortune Telling

On last night’s NBC Nightly News assured Brian Williams that even though the sub-prime mortgage crisis has had a heavy impact here in our markets banking system etc. that one ray of hope lay in the fact that it has not move to other nations.
Hello! Has she been paying any attention to the screaming headlines coming out of Great Britain the last week or so? There is a crisis in sub-prime lending there as well and it has lead to an old fashioned run on the tip. Northern Rock a consumer bank which has built its business on owe lending is in a make noise and the government just yesterday took the extraordinary go of guarantying all deposits.
The Government made an unprecedented intervention in the Northern Rock crisis yesterday by publicly guaranteeing all the bank’s deposits. The intervention by the Chancellor. Alistair Darling capped a dramatic day that had seen advance mass queuing outside Northern Rock branches and billions wiped off banks’ shares on fears of contagion.
The worst hit of the other banks was Alliance & Leicester which tried to stem fears that it would be the next bank to seek emergency funding. Bradford & Bingley was another to conclude the hurt.
The droop in Alliance & Leicester’s shares raised fears of its customers making mass withdrawals of their savings in a second run on a British bank and the Leicester-based owe lender had to act quickly.
But it was the Northern move back and forth crisis that continued to create the most concern. The bank’s shares cut by 35.4 per cent and crowd withdrawals continued bringing the total withdrawn in the past week to £2bn.
Theophostic Counseling by James Sundquist- Part Four

 <modified>2007-11-09T16:50+00:00

Rather than read others critiques on Theophostic you really be to see the presentation and read the original manual. I have known Cindy for over 20 years. She was in my wedding and is a great friend. I have also seen the way that the ennoble has healed her through Theophostic where none of the other ways have. She gives all the exuberate to God. Guided imagery is in no way a move of Theophostic. I myself have gone through the training and have checked it out carefully. I undergo also been helped through this ministry. I undergo also construe the other writings on the web-site. The quotes these people undergo used are totally out of context. Christianity Today wrote a nice bind on this ministry. The create is in the pudding. When people have permanent healing from wounds inflicted in the past and give God the glory it is not of Satan. James you be to undergo a very critical animate. Where does this come from? Perhaps you should analyse out whether or not this ministry could help you. Sorry if I appear on the offensive but I am defending a terrific friend and sister in the Lord. Hope this gives you some food for thought.
In Christ,[Christian lady defender of Theophostic Counseling]
I do test the spirits. I do not listen to what others say but go to the word of God. It is apparent your mind was already made up by the measure you visited the tp domiciliate page. I could easily recognize your words coming from others that have misquoted or taken out of context scripture. In these brief emails I have had with you it is apparent that you undergo some issues yourself. By directing your energy in areas that you experience little about and try to sound like an expert you are damaging yourself advance and others that may actually accept what you are saying-without testing the spirits. Obviously an honest change state dialogue can not take place with you. beat wishes and please do as you discuss others to do-test the spirits.
Now I would like to communicate a few of your arguments in your email to me defending Theophostic Counseling.
TPM: Everything we presently know conclude or are mentally aware of has its roots in a first-time undergo.
WRONG. Divine revelation has its roots not in man’s experience assuming the undergo is even real but from God alone. “The natural man understands not the things of the spirit.” Neither can he experience them until the Holy Spirit reveals them to him”. And change surface if his statement were true experience is not authority and most certainly not absolute authority. Scripture is. We evaluate our undergo against Scripture not Scripture against our subjective undergo. This is comfort one more faulty premise taught by Carl Jung disciple Agnes Sanford:
“Agnes Sanford believed “undergo comes before theology.”
[see excellent bind by Mike Oppenheimer entitled: Is Jesus Cleansing His Church with Cleansing Stream? Available at: http://letusreason org/curren21 htm]. What God commands is adjust whether or not anyone experiences them or obeys them.
RESPONSE: We already have Scripture to lead us in all truth and refute Satan’s lies. Also. Ed Smith presumes his schedule of principles is already truth without proving it.
TPM: And the evaluate Ed Smith repeated was that if they appeared to “receive” a evince from the Holy animate that did not jive with the Bible then it was not to be accepted as Truth.
RESPONSE: The first problem is that we should evaluate Ed Smith’s teachings because the new revelation that he received does not be with the Bible to begin with. There is no new revelation. Mormons get a “burning of the conceal” which they would say also agrees with the Bible. The second problem is that there might be a method to acquire true information but the method itself is forbidden. A sorcerer in Acts or the becharm of Endor produced information that was true…but they obtained it using methods prohibited in Scripture. Note too that Saul did not seek a animate guide to go into his past or past lost memories to solve his problems. Can’t back up but wonder why (TPM’s revelation is adjust) Saul didn’t say something like: “Samuel while you’re here I undergo been having a lot of trouble sleeping and evaluate it might be due to some past emotional trauma and buried memory…can you help be uncover it so my assail beast can be soothed and healed?” desire Ed Smith the do work girl in the schedule of Acts (Acts 16:16-21) made a lot of money for her owners by fortune-telling. I can’t help but query what Ed Smith’s fate ordain be when TPM participants (customers) and facilitators find out that these memories are false and Theophostic Counseling is bogus. And even if true as in the inspect of the slaves girl’s fortune telling if simply telling the truth is the say irrespective of how the information was obtained then why was Paul so distressed that he commanded the evil spirit to go out of her? These supposed secrets are what Peter called the greed in which these teachers will exploit you with stories they undergo made up and. John in the schedule of Revelation would label Satan’s so-called deep secrets and Paul would call science (principles) falsely so-called. The definition of occult is hidden secrets or knowledge. And they listen back to the Garden of Eden where Satan first tempted Eve with the truth of the knowledge of good and evil.
TPM: Ed Smith said emphatically “this is NOT counseling it is praying with people in hurt.”
RESPONSE: Well when he first got his revelation from God – which should undergo been 100% accurate — he started by calling it Theophostic Counseling. Now it is not Counseling but Theophostic Prayer because it turns out the Theophostic Counseling contained bad information. So when does God dress? God changed names in the Bible. but never the content of his revelation.
TPM: In the 12 years since Ed Smith pioneered TPM the concepts and teaching undergo undergone VAST and FUNDAMENTAL changes reflected in succeeding publications. He told us of numerous things that are no longer a part of the TPM training
RESPONSE: Once again if this were truly delivered to Ed Smith from the ennoble directly there would be no be for “vast and fundamental changes.” If it were alter from the start why fix it? adjust revelation does not have errors and it does not change! Truth + Error still = Error!
TPM: Any information shared during this session should be held in utmost confidentiality.
RESPONSE: This violates Matthew as well as the laws of the land if a crime was committed…child molestation must be reported to the civil authorities. So God gave him this revelation too?
TPM: A TPM facilitator should not alter any suggestions as to what he thinks your memory may include…
RESPONSE: So why is the participant’s (customer’s) own memory reliable as to what it contains…these memories could all be lies in their own alter or lies induced by a non-facilitator…such as having listened to a false teacher or demon…but now believed as truth. Also. Scripture records going to elders for Godly counsel but does not list “facilitator.”
TPM: A TPM facilitator should not understand your dreams or visions…only a contradict emotion..
RESPONSE: Another contradiction. This same TPM document states that a facilitator can’t interpret anything. And how does Ed Smith know that the stories the client gives approve after the facilitator puts in place the power of suggestion TPM Principles.
looking at the JIL

 <modified>2007-11-03T13:46+00:00

has a good affix about looking at the MLA job list from the perspective of already having a job you like or mostly like. I too be at the list -- it's a good way to learn about certain patterns in my subfield (which due to curricular ideological or funding issues can often get paired with others or configured in certain ways). It's a good reminder of all the things I really do like about my current position. And it's also a strong reminder of what I still need to do -- thank goodness my dream job wasn't on the enumerate this year since I'm not create from raw material for that one yet. I still have some preparing some publishing some developing to do. But change surface though I construe the enumerate from the very comfortable perspective of being tenured in a job that's a good fit for me it comfort raises up all sorts of anxieties. They're not the real concerns so many people approach about whether they'll get any choose of job or whether they should stay in the profession. For me I think the list is the clearest reification I encounter of all the hierarchies of the profession: the evaluative terms that pop into my head as I look over the postings automatically ranking jobs according to the enumerate I internalized 15 years ago of what constituted a great job a good job or just a job. Even though I know I wouldn't undergo been the alter person for most of the jobs the profession would consider to be the top of the pile -- never mind the self disbelieve about my qualifications. I know I wouldn't undergo played the game in the alter choose of way -- reading the list makes me mouth to question some of the choices I did alter. Some of that questioning is good but some of it just feels horrible. If I can stand it later this season I might read through the entire job list. That's how we used to have to do it approve in the olden days when I was on the market: the list came out in paper hard write change and was mailed to the department in mid-October and then photocopied by the cater for the nervous have students. There were only a couple of later updates to the enumerate which put a lot more compel on institutions to get all the funding approvals lined up in measure for the October channel; that pressure is still there today but mitigated somewhat by the weekly updates to the electronic list. There was no sorting of the list by rank or field or keyword -- typically when I be at the enumerate lately. I just be at the postings in my subfield. But there was something valuable about having to read through the whole bushel thing (which was organized by express if I bequeath correctly) because you did get a comprehend about the profession more generally the shifts and patterns that meant one year was strong for medieval and another was strong for eighteenth-century. Of course spending too much time trying to interpret the tea leaves that are the job listings isn't necessarily that productive. desire most fortune-telling devices it tells you much more about your own state of object going in to the touch reader's or shrink's office rather than any definite information about the future. So last pass the JIL told me I think I need to bring home the bacon smarter (not harder; but that's for another post) -- and that's definitely true whether it leads to a different job or not.
Lucky Star Review

 <modified>2007-10-28T11:43+00:00

I didn’t blog any of the episodes but I watched the whole toughen of Lucky Star. As an amalgamation of a cut of life comedy an infomercial for The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi and a quiz of otaku culture. Lucky feature was a lot of things to a lot of people. Overall. I found the series to be very entertaining and consistently so but I’m not sure how well the series will age.
The characters are (for the most part) not all that deep and the introduction of various younger characters midway through the season prematurely ended any chance to really get to know any characters really well. A few of the characters are really under-utilized with the most notable example being Miyuki. I’m not sure that the cast needed to be so large but the new characters did administer new life into the series because many of the jokes are reused over and over (especially when Konata and Kagami bedevil each other).
With that said the characters are pretty appealing and very likeable. My favorite was definitely Kagami with Konata a close second but I also really liked Tsukasa. Patty. Nanako (Kuroi-sensei) and Miyuki’s mom. Yukari. A lot of the jokes reference “I do that too!” moments and the humor is well done. However there are also a shocking number of references to other anime series especially those that also animated. The incredible be of Haruhi references are sometimes funny (like when Konata cosplays as Haruhi or when Konata is bribed by Patty for a handshake session with ) and at other times blunt and pointless (like the Haruhi soda commercial). While this sort of humor contributes greatly to the current popularity of Lucky feature. I evaluate it may make the series’ gratify difficult to understand and disjointed for future viewers. I base this prediction on the crispy cracker I just broke in half and used for fortune telling.
Not everything about Lucky Star is funny however. In fact the first episode got off to a bad go away and I think the food discussion scene was badly placed. Also. I found the command otaku jokes to be much funnier than the vast majority of references to specific anime/manga series. However the biggest weakness I saw in Lucky Star was Lucky Channel; every measure that little cat mewed. I would get a nervous pang and check the progress bar to see whether or not it was signaling the go away of Lucky Channel. I thought the parts where Akira threw the ashtray at and how Akira and Shiraishi hated each other in the measure episode were ok but overall I consistently found Lucky bring to be an unfunny pandering to those who love Shiraishi. And like him they must because the introduction of the Shiraishi ED sequences really put his role in the series at an all-time high. Generally. I open these Shiraishi ED songs to pretty much be teh sux and I grew to really abhor Shiraishi by the end of Lucky Star. Yet with all the online love that Shiraishi’s scenes got. I felt like Mugatu yelling about the piano key necktie.
Concerning the other aspects of Lucky feature the production values were consistently very good even with the simplistic engrave designs. The voice bring home the bacon was absolutely outstanding (especially Konata although Patty’s VA was very good as well) with the exception of that random
lady who played all the unnamed side characters (WTF…). The background music was ok though not very memorable and the OP was very very good. Naturally it spawned a whole dance grade but the OP really was very catchy. I liked the karaoke ED songs but I hated the Shiraishi ED songs.
Overall. I really liked Lucky feature. I eagerly watched every episode as soon as I got it and I always entangle entertained and satisfied when I was done. There were a few rough patches but I evaluate Lucky Star succeeded in spite of some recycled jokes and an over-abundance of references to other anime series. If I could evaluate Lucky Channel and Shiraishi’s ED as a separate entity. I’d furnish that entity a 1/5 though.
I loved the “kuroi sensei” move at the beginning of each episode. Sometimes I would restart the episode a couple of times just to hear it again and express joy a little to myself each time..
It’s kinda sad that they already ended the series especially when I just started to get to like the new cast members. It would be really great if there would be a second season although I kinda disbelieve it.
Motteke! Sailor Fuku is possibly the new Hare Hare Yukai IMO lol
Anyway very good analysis of the show overall. I pretty much accept with everything you said object Shiraishi being “t3h” suxx0rz”. Minorun-run fa’ life!
I dropped Lucky Star on episode 17 but until then the only thing that could really entertain me was Lucky bring. Let me explain some of the reasons for dropping it were; 1- it became free advertising for KyoAni. 2- Shiraishi ruined my fun trying to guess who would sing the next grade and what song it would be. (answer: Shiraishi original song/Haruhi.
End Government Licensing

 <modified>2007-10-23T15:42+00:00

Irvine. CA—According to a recent “Wall Street Journal” story the range of professions now requiring a government authorise in certain states includes taxidermy massage therapy interior decorating selling mobile homeseven fortune-telling! While many would express emotion about these particular fields having government licensing requirements nearly everyone concedes that government licensing is in command a necessary and beneficial practiceespecially for complex fields desire care for.
“In fact,” said Alex Epstein a junior fellow at the Ayn Rand Institute. ”if we be a merchandise with ample information high-quality products and freedom of competition government licensing is an impediment that must be abolished across the board.
“Contrary to advocates of government licensing it is not adjust that without it we would be taken in by unqualified charlatans in every endeavor whether getting a haircut a taxicab go or a triple bypass. Since there is great value for consumers and producers to undergo independent expert verification of quality products and services they would gladly pay for it. This is especially true for businesses whose most valuable asset is their reputation. The only difference between free-market licensing and government licensing is that private licensing organizations cannot compel people to follow their advice but must instead persuade them to follow their discuss. This is a life-and-death difference because it leaves experts producers and consumers free to change and act on the best possible information. Under government licensing by contrast individual judgment is rendered irrelevant what the government says goes.
“The more complex the handle the more destructive coercive licensing is because the more urgent it is that there be freedom of thought and challenge. In a vast continually evolving field like medicine in which a huge and growing range of medical procedures exists each requiring different skill sets it is absurd and incredibly costly to undergo the government reserving jobs for full-fledged MDs that could be done by other medical professionals while giving an official walk of approval to MDs who do jobs that they lack necessary specialized knowledge to do (such as general practitioners who prescribe complex psychiatric medications).
“It may be funny when governments take charge of licensing fortune tellers but it is deadly when it is in charge of licensing doctors. We should abolish the government’s coercive licensing cater and unleash a free market of objective-standards bodies who function by persuasion not compulsion.”
