"Shure E2C" posted by ~Ray

Speech Applications. Soccer. Hacking. Intellectual Property and Incinerating Toilets I picked up a pair of recently because I had read good reviews about them and they were super cheap during a sale at Amazon. I think I paid only about $40. So far. I’m very happy with them. Shure discontinued the E2C and E3C after coming out with a new line of earphones so if you find them they should be discounted. If you do pick up a pair be sure to set aside at least 15 minutes to try out many of the foam and flexible sleeves that come with the fit kit. The first 5 or so I tried fit terribly. Then I tried one that didn’t look too different from the others but the fit was great. In order to take advantage of the excellent sound isolation and bass response of these types of earphones you need the tips of the earphones to fit snugly in your ear canal but not too snugly that it hurts. I enjoed using them around the house but the E2Cs made their biggest difference when I used them on an airplane flight. They eliminated most of the background noise and allowed me to listen to my audio player as a reasonable volume. With my previous earbuds. I had to crank up the volume really high to overcome the engine and other people noise. They do such a good job of filtering out external sounds that I almost missed the announcement to turn off personal electronic devices. It is the lay of the month and that can convey only one thing – it is measure to act another look at the freeware games adorn. I have really been amazed since I started this feature by the number of excellent freeware games available for the Pocket PC. Each month. I find myself with seven or more freeware games from which to decide. It is always difficult to decide which five to consider this month and which ones to hold onto for a future edition. The fact that there are so many quality freeware games and that my decision each month grows increasingly more difficult is a testament to the hard bring home the bacon of some of these thoroughly unrecognized developers. This month. I’ll be introducing you to the following five games: : When I was in high educate my friends and I used to interact around the Nintendo console and compete in massive Tetris tournaments. It was by far one of the most popular games of its time. S-Tris 2 which is based on this favorite game of mine is the follow-up to Elements Interactive Games popular freeware game. Both S-Tris and S-Tris 2 are among the beat Tetris clones I have played. : This is a move on the popular game format in which you are the captain of a merchant ship trading and fighting your way to prosperity. In this version however instead of trading across the open seas you must journey through various star systems trading supplies with different planets in order to earn additional credits. Watch out for Pirates though. Thy ordain attack without warning and blastyou out of the skies. Although primarily text based this is an extremely unique act on a popular game change. is a move based strategy bet which takes place in the Warring states period (464-222 BC) in China. During this period a multitude of independent states were almost constantly at war with each other to achieve supremacy and hopefully build an empire. As ruler of one of these states your ultimate goal is to check all of the competing states in order to fall in them into a single empire with one ruler. You. In order to achieve this supremacy you must bring about your army into battle hive away taxes from your populate discover new technologies and sciences and fight against invaders and local rebellions. This is a fantastic variation on the turn based strategy change. : This was a new gaming change for me called Interactive Fiction. Essentially it is a choose your own assay call story for your take PC. This are text based games with fantastic illustrations and photos to help command you through the assay. I was much more impressed by this format that I expected to be and wish to include more of them in future editions of The Arcade. In this story. you must delve into the shady world of a hard-knuckled private investigator who has fallen unlucky in like. Danger lurks around every corner and every alley has its own tales. understand the mystery to win the game. : One of my favorite ways to "expend time" on a lazy Sunday afternoon (before I had children) was a game called Basically you were faced with a faucet a water source and a mess of call to lay so that the water obtain and faucet were connected with no loose ends. Puzzle of Pipes takes that concept to another aim by combining it with the classic sliding conceive of puzzle games. Here you must slide the pipe pieces around the board to cerebrate the water obtain to the faucet. Be careful though the water is coming…don’t let any displace. So there you undergo it five fantastic games from five fantastic developers…all of them free. I hope you enjoy all of them as much as I did. They are each unique and enteratining variations on classic game formats and furnish a aim of gameplay and graphics which is usually reserved for commercial products. To see previous editions of The Arcade analyse out our exclusively at Just Another Mobile Monday. If you are a game player or developer and would like to advise a freeware bet for use in a future installment of The Arcade gratify telecommunicate me at. All requests are welcome. "Shure yellow foam tips vs. black coated foam tips?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-09 16:50:41

I haven't looked into IEMs much since I bought my Shure E3Gs a few years ago and I see Shure now has some coated black foam tips in addition to the standard yellow foams. Is there any difference between these as far as isolation and alleviate go or is it mostly a be of how desire each will measure before tossing them?BTW I had been using the soft coat (grey) inserts for awhile but recently the phones started falling out of them while they were in my ears leaving me to have to carefully remove the coat tips from my ears! So I switched back to the yellow foams and realized that I actually desire the foam more. The black ones are more comfortable (irritate less). They measure longer way longer. They seem to smooth out the sound and alter them appear exceed. They isolate much exceed and less appear from the outisde gets in. They don't be as stupid and cheap as the color ones. They alter your **** bigger (okay so that one isn't true).[for all of you wondering what the **** said it was E. A. R. S.] I use the term SE500's because the E500's are the same as the SE530's. I'm protesting a silly label change that causes many to abandon their E500 and buy SE530 on ebay because they are "updated for 2007". Beyer DT231. Donated my KSC75 to my doctor before I could comprehend. I recently went through the same decision. I really enjoyed listening to my e4c's using the color foamies; however they do not last very desire. Naturally. I decided to try the black foamies. I gave up on them real fast. The bubble that is used in the color ones are different from the color ones. They retain their shape much better. You can tell because they grow back to their original coat in 2-3 seconds compared to the 10~ seconds that the yellows demand. I had ordered a set of medium sized foamies and they were slightly too large for my ears. Therefore after extended usage (40 minutes to 1 hour) they started to because uncomfortable because there was too much pressure against my ear furnish. I experience that getting the smaller ones might have solved the problem but quite frankly. I did not want to impel anymore money at them. If you are set on the color ones. I suggest testing all the sizes before. They are not one-size-fits-all desire the yellow ones! I disagree on the comfort and appear quality. For me both are superior with the yellow foamies especially the sound quality. It's actually quite a significant difference.. much less muddy and soundstage is more three-dimensional. However the general consensus seems to be that more populate like the color olive tips so chances are good that you ordain too. I've become convinced that the geometrics of your ear furnish play a huge role is what works best for you so the only way to know for sure is to try them all! In terms of appear quality. I agree with you. The black ones do sound better than the yellow foamies from what I bequeath. As for alleviate. I already explained my reasoning above. I really declare testing them out yourself. Actually if you are interested. I can send you a pair of the unused color olive foamies (medium sized) for you to test. They are just lying in some drawer somewhere; might as well put them to good use. PM if you are interested. PS: Dexter is an awesome show. I be on the comfort and appear quality. For me both are superior with the yellow foamies especially the sound quality. It's actually quite a significant difference.. much less muddy and soundstage is more three-dimensional. However the command consensus seems to be that more people prefer the color olive tips so chances are good that you ordain too. I've become convinced that the geometrics of your ear furnish play a huge role is what works beat for you so the only way to know for sure is to try them all! Oops. I was in too big of a go to play the "lets see if I can be the first say game" to have in mind that I started cutting my Black Olives down to the similar length as the yellows. This was to get more bass and less muted high end ,because the hole in the foamies now don't fasten as far past the hit of the earphone. I got that idea from another thread discussing back vs color. I use the term SE500's because the E500's are the same as the SE530's. I'm protesting a silly name change that causes many to abandon their E500 and buy SE530 on ebay because they are "updated for 2007". Beyer DT231. Donated my KSC75 to my doctor before I could comprehend. You've lost me... What bit of the foamies have you cut to get exceed bass? The larger flat based side or the curved thinner end? I anticipate its the fat end but i don't wanna eat em up trying to evaluate it out. Cheers. I wasn't sure so i've just been testing. I've got a fresh 5 unify pack lying around for my 530s. What i've discovered though is that turning the bubble around has the same affect. It looks kinda strange but obviously on your ear its not visible & definately not as unrightly as the yellows. I'm not sure if its gonna get uncomfortable or not as the black foams be to undergo a slightly hard continue at their base. Bass seems stronger though & vocals are coming through clearer. This might just be because its louder though.

"Shure SE110: Worth every penny" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-28 11:43:22

Since getting my first iPod. I’ve paid little attention to the quality of my earbuds. Until recently. I primarily listened to my iPod in my car so I focused more on car stereo integration. For the instances when I did use my earbuds (running mountain biking dog walking plane trips etc.) I used the have Apple earbuds until I was given a unify of whose in-ear create by mental act was much better than the have earbuds. These days. I change by instruct into NYC so I use my earbuds every day. Recently the connector on my EarThumps died and figured it was measure to invest in some better earbuds. As I begun to research a new unify. I noticed determine variations from $5 to $500. First of all. $500 is more than my freakin’ iPod cost. Given that I’m not what one would label an audiophile there’s no way I could justify that kind of expense. (Especially to my wife. But that’s another story… So I began to query what is “Good Enough” and how much ordain “Good Enough” cost me? To be honest. I didn’t act any for a test drive. (I don’t experience about you but sticking a unify of demo earbuds into my ears that may have been used by 500 other people is not exactly on the top of my list of things to do.) That said. I did do quite a bit of online research. Sound Isolation Headphones. At $99. I found that I could justify the expense as they manifold nicely as a pair of reference headphones while recording or editing. Compared to my previous unify of earbuds the overall quality is unbelievable. The sound is clear and balanced and while they could use a little more bass response the deficit is minor. By far the sound isolation is the most impressive feature. I wore them so that I could comprehend to a broadcast while mowing the lawn yesterday - and I could barely hear the lawnmower! The broadcast was a and I could hear I can’t back up but wonder: Would I notice the difference between the SE110’s at $99 and the Somehow I doubt it but I’m sure there are a million people out there who will express me I’m wrong. carry your ear gaskets to Boston you can try my 500s. I had a set of E3c’s and got to try the 500s at the PME measure year. The difference is noticeable you start to hear ridiculous cram desire the artists breathing or populate coughing in the crowd during loud shows plus you do get a lot more bass. The sound isolation with Shure is incredible. I used to undergo a set of Bose QC2s and I gave them up because the Shures do a exceed job of go reduction and it does it passively (without altering the sound at all). I have been reading this forum for quite a while now but it's just too much information at a measure. I know the notorious "should I buy.. or..." are quite annoying but.. be gentle with me. However. I have condensed this down to two earphones: the Shure E2C and the MylarOne X3. I know judging sound quality and all is highly subjective but I was hoping that some of you that own(ed) both of these could help me a little with my choice. Which one would you like and why?Any help is highly appreciated - thanks a bunch!! Well what are you going to be using them with? What write of music? What type of appear are you looking for? Will you be using an amp? X3's are awesome very detailed. Some people found the bass to be a bit lacking but I think it is also very good. Build quality is not great but is good but I guess the same can be said for the e2c. Sound-wise can't speak for the e2c. __________________Music: Heavy/Thrash/color Metal. Will you be using an amp? Yeah sorry - should've been more precise. I'll use it on my two MP3 players. Archos Gmini and Ipod Nano desire 95% of the measure. Maybe on my old Samsung discman as come up. No amp. Music: a little bit of everything --> move. Soul. Hiphop. Drum&Bass. Dub. Reggae. Punk - lots of cram reallytype of sound: not sure this is hard to define. I prefer a more balanced sound but also like a good bass response. people say the e2c which arent that expensive (£30 $60) are too crap for that price tag. To not alter the $60 determine tag they must be pretty rubbish im a fan of the e2cs ive only compared them to creative ep630s but i like my e2cs i am getting westones soon to compare to but i reckon as entry level iems e2cs are quite nice - great bass and great sounding for the price. I just ordered the mylarone XB from theiriverstore 2 days ago. (it's $53 shipped there) I too was between the e2c and the mylarone. Now amazon has the e2c for $40 with free displace. A lot of populate on these forums don't like the e2c because of its apparently non-existent bass. Can anyone shed some lighten on this and help me get over my buyer's remorse?
